Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Able to push, pull, and lift weights up to 150 pounds
  • Basic English language proficiency
  • Customer service orientation
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks
  • Compliance with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Job Duties

  • Report to work as scheduled in proper uniform
  • Maintain a friendly positive attitude ensuring a positive guest experience
  • Follow all housekeeping department policies and procedures
  • Communicate properly over radio equipment
  • Respond and close requests when assigned
  • Assist room attendants by emptying trash and soiled linen
  • Maintain public restrooms, hotel lobbies, elevators, ice machines, stairwells, entrances, and hallways
  • Handle guests with excellent guest relations skills
  • Clean back-of-house windows as needed
  • Vacuum guest hallways daily
  • Use proper chemicals for cleaning according to procedures
  • Attend all departmental meetings
  • Perform duties timely and efficiently
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized linen closets
  • Bring trash to compactor at end of day
  • Wash guest room glassware and manage linen closet supplies
  • Bring dirty glassware to housekeeping at shift end
  • Perform other duties as directed by management
  • Notify supervisors of problems or unusual matters
  • Be polite and helpful to guests, management, and team members
  • Attend all relevant hotel meetings and training
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of equipment and work area
  • Execute emergency procedures as per hotel standards
  • Comply with safety regulations, hotel policies, and rules
  • Recycle whenever possible
  • Stay current with hotel information and changes
  • Promote and apply teamwork skills at all times
  • Adhere to hotel uniform and grooming standards
