Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- pass a criminal background and fingerprint check
- has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population
- ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position
- ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees
- maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors
- meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations
- ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
- maintains current food handler's card

Job Duties
- Supports dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents
- performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- must have high standards of cleanliness
- ensures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner
- follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
- follows established infection control practices when performing housekeeping procedures
- must be capable of operating and maintaining all housekeeping/laundry equipment (i.e., commercial washer/dryer, buffing machines, etc.)
- ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations
- attends and participates in required meetings and trainings
- stays current on system assigned tasks and duties
- performs other tasks/duties as assigned
