Job Qualifications

  • must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent
  • prefer prior experience in assisted living, independent living or skilled nursing facility
  • require one year of prior experience in commercial or institutional housekeeping
  • must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism
  • must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning
  • must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc
  • must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition

Job Duties

  • Provides daily cleaning of main common areas and offices to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and windows
  • cleans residents’ apartments to include bathroom, toilets, trash, dusting and vacuuming
  • cleans public restrooms and employee breakroom
  • vacuums halls and front lobby as required by schedule or as needed
  • responsible for emptying trash in offices daily
  • building cleaning as needed to include baseboards, ceiling light fixtures, and other hard to reach/access areas
  • responsible for keeping the furniture in common areas clean and free of dust and clutter
  • perform laundry functions as needed
