Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to meet appearance standards
  • capability to communicate with guests and coworkers
  • physical ability to push vacuum along entire hall length, carry supplies, transport soiled linens to laundry area, retrieve room service trays, and carry dirty dishes to service area
  • ability to bend and kneel to reach all areas
  • mobility to access shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, and under and around furniture
  • ability to stand or walk continuously
  • ability to climb approximately 40 steps for 15 percent of a 40-hour workweek

Job Duties

  • Walk all assigned floors at the beginning and end of shift
  • remove newspapers, service trays, and empty trash containers
  • remove trash and/or laundry and identify immediate cleaning needs
  • clean all public areas as prescribed and follow safety procedures including hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells
  • remove soiled linens, towels, and trash from service areas and deliver them to appropriate locations
  • assist room cleaning staff as needed
  • stock linens and supply closets to maintain inventory
  • report lost and found items, damages, or merchandise issues to supervisor or manager
  • respond to guest requests and inquiries and report guest problems and complaints hospitably
