Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 20 to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Knowledge of sanitation and infection control practices
  • Ability to operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment
  • Understanding of safety guidelines and compliance
  • Dependability and motivation to complete duties independently
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and safety
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment

Job Duties

  • Performs cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms, offices, hallways and other areas according to standards
  • Maintains cleanliness of areas and items to limit cross infection
  • Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping, applying floor finishes and polishing
  • Operates mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment
  • Removes trash and refills dispensers following infection control practices
  • Notifies supervisor of low supply levels and equipment malfunctions
  • Follows all safety guidelines and maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Completes assignments within shift without sacrificing quality
  • Observes isolation and asepsis techniques as per procedures
  • Disposes materials according to policy guidelines
  • Participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives
