Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Housekeeping experience preferred
- Able to understand and carry out instructions
- Able to identify and follow directions for chemicals used in performance of duties
- Dependable and motivated to complete duties without constant supervision
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Knowledge of sanitation and use of disinfectants
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Understanding of infection control standards
- Good judgment and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, baths, offices, halls and other areas according to established standards
- Maintain cleanliness of area and specific items to limit cross infection
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and apply floor finishes and polishes as required
- Operate various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical
- Remove trash and waste from assigned areas and refill dispensers
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain areas in safe condition
- Notify supervisor immediately of low supply levels and equipment malfunctions
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner
- Dispose of materials according to proper policy guidelines
- Observe established isolation and asepsis techniques
- Participate in organizational quality initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
