Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and talk or hear
- Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to occasionally climb or balance and taste or smell
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
- Ability to push or pull 50 lbs
- Willingness to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to handle exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, infectious waste, and diseases in compliance with standard precautions
Job Qualifications
- Ability to interact with residents and provide excellent customer service
- Prior housekeeping experience desirable
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of general cleaning duties including dusting, scrubbing, wiping, mopping wet and dry floors, vacuuming, and other assigned cleaning duties
- Performs cleaning in diverse areas such as resident rooms, dining areas, kitchens, living rooms, hallways, stairwells, elevators, bathrooms, recreation areas, nursing stations, medication rooms, utility rooms, break rooms, offices, and other assigned locations
- Conducts carpet care and resilient floor cleaning according to procedure
- Mixes, labels, monitors, and properly utilizes a variety of approved cleaning products
- Conducts specialized clean-up following procedures including blood spill and hazardous material clean-up
- Follows infection control procedures including proper hand washing, trash storage and disposal, and wearing protective clothing when handling waste and cleaning agents
- Adheres to all safety procedures and protocols including reporting hazardous conditions, defective equipment, accidents, or incidents to supervisors immediately
