Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some related experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with elderly residents
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to use hands and arms for reaching and operating cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor
- Must be able to follow instructions and work independently
- Must be capable of using communication devices such as cell phones or pagers
Job Qualifications
- Some related experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as agreements, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
- Ability to maintain a courteous business-like manner when interacting with outside contacts, residents and employees
- Ability to use good judgment, organize, solve problems, work as part of a team, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Must be able to operate a cell phone or pager, and telephone
Job Duties
- Cleans resident apartment homes including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, disinfecting, washing windows
- Empties trash, waste and other disposable materials and transports to disposal area
- Assists care staff with cleaning lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and common spaces
- Reports needed repairs to Executive Director and maintenance specialist
- Maintains a courteous and helpful demeanor when interacting with residents and staff
- Uses various hand and power cleaning equipment effectively
- Adheres to safety and sanitation standards
