Job Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to 5 ft height
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs at waist height
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach above shoulder level, and crawl
- Ability to walk or stand for the majority of the shift
- Ability to wear protective clothing and safely handle cleaning chemicals, infectious waste, and hazardous materials
- Familiarity with infection control policies
- Ability to safely operate power and non-power cleaning equipment including ladders up to 20 feet.

Job Duties
- Cleans furniture and carpets in rooms, hallways, stairs, and offices using power equipment
- Cleans and maintains floor surfaces with dry and wet mops
- Refinishes floors including machine scrubbing, stripping, and applying floor finish
- Operates various types of cleaning equipment including mechanical and electrical devices
- Notifies appropriate personnel of safety hazards and equipment in need of repair
- Cleans equipment, service carts, and supply closets daily
- Assists in cleaning emergency spills as required
- Uses chemicals and cleaning products safely following Material Safety Data Sheets
- Sets up rooms for meetings and delivers audiovisual equipment
- Cleans patient care areas, public and private restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells
- Performs scheduled terminal and project cleaning in surgical areas
- Cleans all environmental surfaces including ceilings, vents, walls, doors, furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, and windows
- Collects and disposes of recyclables, trash, and medical waste following infection control guidelines
- Sorts, stocks, and delivers linens and prepares soiled linens for transportation
- Inventories supplies and orders additional materials as needed
- Fills and cleans supply dispensers
- Replaces cubicle drapes and window coverings
- Cleans and prepares dismissal and transfer units
- Reports mechanical failures and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
