Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- meets state and federal requirements
- ability to perform physical activities such as standing, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Duties
- Assists with maintenance of a clean and sanitary facility by following a comprehensive cleaning program including cleaning and sanitizing furnishings, fixtures, floors, walls, windows, doors, ceilings, entrances, exits, horizontal surfaces, curtains, drapes, and privacy curtains
- washes and disposes of waste and trash
- performs spot cleaning and disinfection as needed
- cleans movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures including dusting, spot cleaning, washing, disinfecting, sanitizing, and polishing
- changes slip covers, scarves, doilies
- cleans ledges, shelves, and vents
- empties, cleans, and relines waste baskets
- straightens or re-arranges furniture as directed
- maintains clean, stocked public and private bathrooms by regularly washing and disinfecting all fixtures, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors
- replenishes bathroom supplies
- conducts emergency cleaning per procedures including timely and proper handling and cleaning of spills, slick surfaces, broken furniture affecting safety
- performs terminal cleaning duties as directed and prepares rooms for new residents
- assists with reporting environmental services matters to supervisor including safety issues and equipment defects
- maintains equipment and cleaning materials properly
- ensures proper documentation of cleaning services and safety concerns
- performs quality assessment and assurance functions including auditing cleaning procedures and monitoring cleaning service quality
- assists with development and updating environmental services policies and procedures
- assists with survey processes as directed
- maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs
- carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and facility policies
- communicates effectively in English
- demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with high energy and enthusiasm
- performs physical activities including standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing, twisting, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone
- adheres to exposure precautions related to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness
