Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills verbally and by phone
- Ability to read and understand safety data sheets and chemical instructions
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job including extensive walking and pushing carts
- Must complete onboarding in a timely manner
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Must receive annual flu vaccine or submit exemption
- Willingness to work night shift and rotate on weekends and holidays
- Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to biohazards
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Previous related experience preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Plan the completion of daily cleaning tasks
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap in all assigned areas
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel for repairs
- Properly log out and in used equipment
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Meet or exceed goals for customer service satisfaction
