Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Must complete onboarding in a timely manner
- Required to receive annual flu vaccine
- Subject to background check and drug screen
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as walking and pushing a cleaning cart
- Weekend and holiday availability required
Job Qualifications
- Previous related experience preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret and respond to instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical use instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Plan and complete daily cleaning tasks
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash and medical waste containers including sharps
- Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel for repairs
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors
- Meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals
