Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for cleaning chemicals
- Ability to complete onboarding including background check and drug screen
- Must receive annual flu vaccine
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays and shift rotations
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks involving extensive walking and pushing carts
- Possession of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for specific locations
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical mixing instructions
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Previous experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for employees at specified Banner Health facilities
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Plan daily completion of cleaning tasks
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers including medical waste and sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels and hand soap
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of departmental equipment and report repairs
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Work under regular supervision in an assigned facility or area only
