Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to work independently and in a team
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- physical capability to perform fast-paced, physical work involving walking and pushing cleaning carts
- willingness to work weekend and holiday rotations
- successful completion of background check and drug screen
- compliance with mandatory annual flu vaccination or approved exemption
- employees at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital or Whole Health Clinic must possess and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- previous related experience with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- additional related education and/or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in all assigned areas
- maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel for repairs while properly logging equipment use
- perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors to meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals
- work under regular supervision responsible for assigned facility/area ensuring safety and cleanliness
