Job Requirements

  • Completion of post-offer physical assessment, drug screen, and background check
  • Ability to work night shift hours from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for chemicals
  • Must meet shift hours to be eligible for shift differentials
  • Employees in behavioral health settings must possess required fingerprint clearance card and sign criminal history affidavit
  • Registry/Per Diem status with no guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package

Job Qualifications

  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills including verbal and phone communication
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical instructions
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties

  • Performs assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to policies
  • Empties hampers, transports soiled linen, and removes trash including medical waste containers
  • Inventories, restocks, and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment, reports necessary repairs, and logs equipment use
  • Performs special projects such as window washing and removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings
  • Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring high customer service satisfaction
  • Works under supervision with responsibility for assigned facility or area
