Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and push/pull 50 lbs
- Willingness to work beyond normal hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks including stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, or balancing
- Ability to handle exposure to cleaning chemicals, infectious waste, and potentially emotionally upset residents or family members
Job Qualifications
- Ability to interact with residents and provide excellent customer service
- Prior housekeeping experience desirable
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of general cleaning duties including dusting high and low, scrubbing, wiping, mopping wet and dry floors, vacuuming, and other assigned cleaning duties
- Cleans a variety of areas including resident rooms, dining areas, kitchens, living rooms, hallways, stairwells, elevators, bathrooms, recreation areas, nursing stations, medication rooms, clean and soiled utility rooms, break rooms, offices, and other assigned areas
- Performs carpet care and resilient floor cleaning according to procedure
- Mixes, labels, monitors, and properly utilizes approved cleaning products
- Conducts specialized clean-up such as blood spill and hazardous material clean-up following procedure and using proper equipment
- Follows infection control procedures including hand washing, waste storage and disposal, and wearing protective clothing
- Adheres to all safety procedures and policies, reporting hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and incidents immediately
