Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Dependable and motivated to complete duties without constant supervision
- Physical capability to perform medium strength work involving lifting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally
- Knowledge of safety practices including use of PPE and exposure control plans
- Adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Ability to identify and properly use chemicals and cleaning solutions
- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Knowledge of sanitation, disinfectants, and safety standards
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation

Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, baths, offices, halls and other areas according to established standards
- Maintain cleanliness of area and specific items to limit cross infection
- Clean assigned areas by washing walls, furniture, tile, fixtures, equipment and other surfaces with cleaning solutions
- Remove trash and waste from assigned areas and refill all applicable dispensers following established departmental and infection control practices
- Notify supervisor immediately of low supply levels and equipment malfunctions
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain areas in safe condition
- Sweep and mop floor areas, vacuum carpets, and spot-clean carpets using appropriate solutions
- Operate various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical in cleaning floors and carpets
- Complete all assigned work during the shift without sacrificing the quality of work
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times
- Use supplies and equipment according to standards and within manufacturers' guidelines
- Dispose of materials according to proper policy guidelines
- Observe established isolation and asepsis techniques in accordance with departmental procedures
- Adhere strictly to regulations for infection control
- Perform all other duties as assigned
