Job Duties
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher
- empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes, and polishes room furniture
- washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls and lavatories
- cleans and replaces window treatments and ceiling fixtures
- changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves furniture to clean under and behind
- cleans bathroom areas including tub, tile, walls, commode, floors, and vanity
- cleans kitchen area including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets, and floor
- washes and disinfects dishes, utensils, and cookware
- cleans iron and ironing board and replaces cover as necessary
- ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and availability of hangers
- ensures TVs, alarm clocks, and in-room phones are clean, programmed, and functioning
- places amenities including consumables and non-consumables
- removes and replaces bed linen
- inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
- moves or repositions beds upon guest checkout or request
- greets and welcomes guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
- ensures privacy and security of guests
- cleans, vacuums, and mops corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios, and balconies
- shampoos rugs and carpets
- performs deep cleaning as required including cleaning windows, carpets, walls, and refrigerator defrosting
- maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
- communicates room status to supervisor
- accomplishes minor repairs and maintenance
- cleans and inspects exterior spaces
- loads and unloads trucks or vans
- assists with receipt and storage of supplies
- uses hand tools as needed
- responsible for pass key and other keys
- reports irregularities immediately
- handles lost and found items
- sets up, cleans up, and assists with breakfast bar service
- completes safety and security training
- applies blood-borne pathogen safety measures
- performs laundry operations
- may travel to other facilities
- obtains housekeeping certifications as required
- performs other related duties as assigned
