Job Duties
- cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer and polisher
- empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes and polishes room furniture
- washes walls, partitions, air vents
- disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls and lavatories
- washes and replaces window treatments
- cleans ceiling fixtures
- changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves furniture to clean under and behind
- cleans bathroom and kitchen areas including appliances and floors
- washes and disinfects dishes, utensils and cookware
- cleans iron and ironing board
- ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and hangers in closets
- cleans and programs TVs, alarm clocks, and in-room phones
- places amenities in rooms
- removes and replaces bed linen
- inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
- moves and repositions beds
- greets and welcomes guests
- maintains guest privacy and security
- cleans and maintains corridors, stairways, laundry areas and exterior spaces
- performs scheduled deep cleaning including carpet cleaning and spot treatment
- maintains storage rooms orderly
- communicates status of cleaned rooms to supervisor
- performs minor repairs and reports major maintenance needs
- cleans exterior passageways and parking lots
- assists with loading/unloading supplies and merchandise
- responsible for pass keys and reports unusual circumstances
- reports found lost and found items
- sets up and cleans breakfast bars
- obtains food handling certifications
- completes safety and security training
- applies safety measures related to contaminated linens and items
- performs laundry operations
- may travel to other lodging facilities
- may obtain housekeeping certifications
- performs other related duties as assigned
