Job Requirements
- No prior experience required
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to perform moderate physical effort including moving furniture and operating cleaning equipment
- willingness to obtain food handling and housekeeping certifications as required
- valid state driver’s license may be required
- ability to work full-time, 35 plus hours per week
- adhere to safety and security training

Job Duties
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher
- empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes and polishes room furniture
- washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls and lavatories
- washes and replaces window treatments
- cleans ceiling fixtures
- changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves furniture to clean under and behind
- uses step stool to clean windows, cabinet tops, mirrors, and picture frames
- cleans bathroom areas including tub, tile walls, commode, floors, and vanity
- cleans kitchen area including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets, and floor
- washes and disinfects dishes, utensils, and cookware
- cleans iron and ironing board and replaces cover
- cleans and ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and availability of hangers in closets
- ensures TVs, alarm clocks, and in-room phones are clean, programmed, and functioning
- places proper amenities in rooms, removes and replaces bed linens
- inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
- moves and repositions beds upon requests
- greets and welcomes guests, maintains guest privacy and security
- cleans corridors, stairways, patios, balconies, and guest laundry
- shampoos rugs and carpets, polishes stair rails
- completes scheduled carpet cleaning with industrial equipment
- performs deep cleaning on schedule and after occupancy of pet-friendly or ADA service animal rooms
- maintains storage room cleanliness and order
- communicates room status to supervisor
- performs minor repairs on equipment and reports major issues
- cleans and inspects exterior spaces
- assists with receiving, assembling and storing supplies
- responsible for pass key and other keys and returns keys at shift end
- reports unusual circumstances and lost and found items immediately
- may set up and clean up self-service breakfast bars, obtains food handling certifications
- completes all safety and security training
- maintains cleanliness and safety by following blood-borne pathogen safety measures and NHG protocols
- performs laundry operations
- may travel between lodging facilities
- may obtain housekeeping certification and performs other related duties as assigned
