Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work
  • Ability to operate cleaning machinery and hand tools
  • Must be able to maintain guest privacy and security
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and guests
  • Availability to work across multiple locations as needed
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications within 6 months
  • Must comply with all safety and security training
  • May require valid state driver’s license
  • Must report unusual incidents immediately

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to perform moderate physical effort including moving furniture
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies

  • Valid state driver’s license if traveling between facilities is required
  • Willingness to obtain housekeeping and food handling certifications

Job Duties

  • Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
  • Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer and polisher
  • Empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes and polishes room furniture
  • Washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls, lavatories
  • Washes and replaces window treatments and cleans ceiling fixtures
  • Changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
  • Moves furniture to clean under and behind, uses step stool to clean window and window treatments, cabinet tops, mirrors and picture frames
  • Cleans bathroom areas including tub, tile walls, commode, floors and vanity
  • Cleans kitchen area including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets and floor
  • Washes and disinfects dishes, utensils and cookware
  • Cleans iron and ironing board and replaces cover as necessary
  • Cleans and ensures proper functionality of luggage racks, ensures proper number of male/female hangers in closets
  • Ensures TVs are clean and programmed properly
  • Places proper number of amenities in room
  • Removes and replaces bed linen
  • Moves or repositions beds upon guest checkout or at guest request
  • Greets and welcomes guests, maintains outstanding guest relations
  • Ensures privacy and security of guests
  • Cleans, vacuums and mops corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios and balconies
  • Shampoos rugs, carpets and polishes stair rails regularly
  • Performs deep cleaning as scheduled and upon guest checkout in pet friendly or ADA service animal rooms
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
  • Communicates cleaning status to supervisor
  • Accomplishes minor equipment repairs and reports major issues
  • Cleans and inspects exterior spaces such as parking lots and walkways
  • Loads and unloads trucks and assists with supply receipt
  • Responsible for handling pass keys and returns all keys at shift end
  • Reports unusual circumstances immediately
  • Handles lost and found items appropriately
  • Assists with setup and cleanup of self-service breakfast bar
  • Completes all required safety and security training
  • Maintains clean and safe environment
  • Performs laundry operations
  • May travel to other lodging facilities
  • Obtains required certifications within 6 months
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
