Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Maintains floor and other surfaces by independently operating electric washing, stripping, waxing, polishing, and vacuuming equipment
  • Performs general cleaning duties in assigned work areas such as offices, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, examination rooms, patient rooms, and special procedure rooms
  • Inspects assigned areas to ensure compliance with department standards, assures security, reports deficiencies
  • Replenishes dispensers for soap, hand towels, toilet tissue, and toilet seat covers
  • Properly disposes of all refuse including paper, patient fomites, needles, syringes, IV tubing, glass, pressurized cans, and isolated trash
  • Transports and disposes of soiled linen through approved methods
  • Cleans and maintains all receptacles and replaces liners as needed
  • Moves equipment and furniture, removes and hangs drapes and cubicle curtains
  • Cleans equipment like wheelchairs, gurneys, and hamper holders according to procedures
  • Performs other routine duties such as moving and delivering materials, sanitizing beds, mattresses, and furniture, making beds with fresh linen
  • Participates in staff development and training within the department
  • Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with personnel, health plan members, and the public
  • Performs additional duties as required and assumes responsibilities as directed
