Job Duties
- Maintain prescribed standards of cleanliness using approved cleaning solutions and procedures
- operate electric washing, stripping, waxing, polishing and vacuuming equipment to maintain floors and surfaces
- perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas including offices, lobbies, restrooms, exam rooms and patient rooms
- inspect assigned areas to ensure compliance with department standards and report deficiencies
- replenish dispensers such as soap, hand towels, toilet tissue and seat covers
- properly dispose of refuse including paper, linens, needles, syringes and other waste according to specified protocols
- transport and dispose of soiled linen appropriately
- clean and maintain receptacles and replace liners
- move equipment and furniture, remove and hang drapes and curtains
- clean equipment such as wheelchairs and gurneys
- perform additional duties such as moving and delivering materials, sanitizing patient beds and unit furniture
- participate in staff development and training
- establish cooperative relations with personnel, patients and the public
- perform other related duties as required
- assume additional responsibilities as directed
