Job Requirements

  • Must have knowledge of hotel housekeeping and cleaning techniques
  • Must have the ability to lift, bend, move heavy equipment, and remain on one's feet for extended periods of time
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Spanish speaking skills a plus
  • Must be team oriented and dedicated to providing excellent service and ensuring that the brand's highest standards are met
  • Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays
  • May be required to use a personal vehicle for business purposes

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment is beneficial but not required
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in English
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and housekeeping products and techniques
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and dedication to quality service
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Spanish speaking skills considered a plus

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the cleaning of corridors, guest areas, service areas and linen closets
  • Empty housekeepers' trash and linen bags
  • Deposits linen down chute and carries trash to dumpster
  • Vacuums corridors and/or guestrooms
  • Delivers rollaway and cribs to guestrooms
  • Turns mattresses as directed by management
  • Stocks supplies needed for linen closets
  • Vacuums public areas
  • Sweeps and mops service landings
  • Mops vending machine areas and keeps machines clean
  • Checks all public restrooms for cleanliness several times daily
  • Checks each floor to make sure fire doors are open
  • Checks elevators for cleanliness
  • Assists with luggage handling
  • Cleans rooms when needed
  • Change bed linen daily
  • Vacuum carpeting
  • Dust all furniture including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, dressers
  • Remove fingerprints and smudges from mirrors, shiny surfaces, windows
  • Thoroughly clean the bathroom area including shower stall, sink, floor, toilet
  • Ensure compliance with standard room set-up
  • Report all damage or missing items found in rooms immediately
  • Notify Housekeeping Supervisor of rollaways or cribs for pick-up and storage
  • Take responsibility for pass key and turn it in daily
  • Turn in all lost and found items immediately
  • Report any unusual occurrences to Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Shut off all lights, TVs and air conditioners when leaving rooms
  • Check lights and change bulbs
  • Maintain outside grounds daily
  • Assist in unloading and storing deliveries
  • Maintain the marquee
  • Sort linens for washing
  • Remove stains from soiled linens
  • Operate washers and dryers properly
  • Fold linens to hotel standards
  • Wash banquet and kitchen laundry
  • Keep laundry area neat
  • Check banquet and restaurant linen needs daily
  • Handle laundry chemicals properly
  • Assist other housekeepers as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Adhere to company policies and brand standards
