Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • must complete initial training course provided by LC Housekeeping prior to working in regulated environments at Abbott Lake County site
  • ability to read and comprehend written information including corporate quality documents, operating procedures, and safety guidelines
  • ability to complete accurate and legible GMP-compliant documentation
  • ability to operate computers and handheld electronic documentation units
  • capability to stand and walk continuously for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights over 20 pounds regularly
  • ability to work with chemicals and in confined, noisy environments
  • willingness to perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting or kneeling
  • willingness to travel up to 5% of the time

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • successful completion of Abbott's initial training course for regulated environments
  • ability to read and comprehend corporate quality documents, operating procedures, and safety guidelines
  • proficiency in documenting work accurately and legibly compliant with GMP
  • ability to operate computers and handheld electronic units for compliance training and documentation
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • effective communication and teamwork abilities

Job Duties

  • perform facility cleaning and support in manufacturing and research environments
  • adhere to quality and regulatory requirements including GMP, SOP, DEA, OSHA, DEP and Abbott standards
  • conduct regulated cleaning procedures in production, manufacturing support, and research laboratories as well as common support areas
  • implement cross contamination cleaning methods for areas with radioactive or biohazardous materials or requiring microbial control
  • prepare biohazardous and radioactive housekeeping equipment for autoclaving or disposal
  • monitor waste for radioactive contamination and identify biohazardous waste
  • complete GMP documentation such as attestation logs, work orders, cleaning logs using handheld electronic documentation units
  • prepare cleaning solutions based on regulated mixing instructions
  • perform microbial control cleaning on walls, ceilings, and floors
  • operate wet/dry battery and electric cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, sweepers, and burnishers
  • perform preventive maintenance on housekeeping equipment like battery maintenance and squeegee adjustments
  • support recycling programs including staging and preparing materials for transportation
  • operate baling and compacting equipment
