Job Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment determined by background investigation
- Subject to urinalysis drug screening
- Selective service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- Complete online onboarding and provide acceptable identification

- Serve a 1-year probationary period

- Annual influenza vaccination or approved exemption
- Commitment to improving federal government efficiency and upholding U.S. Constitution
- Ability to lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds regularly and move heavier loads up to 600 pounds with equipment
- Work Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm with rotating weekends/holidays
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach continually during duties

- Must show evidence of training or experience sufficient to perform the duties of the position
- Experience with dexterity and safety practices
- Ability to follow directions
- Capable of handling weights and loads
- Reliable and dependable
- Aptitude for housekeeping work
- Demonstrated good work practices
- Must meet all qualifications by the closing date
- Experience evaluated includes paid and unpaid work, volunteer service, and national service programs
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions including standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- Visual acuity and coordination necessary for cleaning duties
Job Duties
- Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture, empty waste baskets, clean light globes and Venetian blinds, wash walls, windows and ceilings by climbing small ladders, refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers and move furniture
- Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
- Address spills quickly
- Perform janitorial and custodial services including textile distribution and inventory activity, sanitizing and disinfecting, waste removal, cleaning of blinds, washing windows and walls, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, discharge cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing and extracting, polishing floors and applying floor finishes
