Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged preferred
- at least one year of housekeeping experience
- ability to perform cleaning tasks across various hospital areas
- familiarity with safety protocols in healthcare settings
- capability to wear respiratory protection equipment
- availability to work night shifts
- physical ability to perform cleaning duties
- willingness to adhere to union position regulations
Job Qualifications

- one to two years of housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to perform cleaning tasks in all patient care and operational areas
- knowledge of safety devices and procedures
- ability to participate in respiratory protection program
- strong attention to detail and reliability
- ability to work night shift from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
- experience using cleaning chemicals and equipment
Job Duties
- perform basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods including dusting horizontal surfaces
- empty wastebaskets by removing trash and relining baskets
- damp clean all furniture
- clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms
- mop and sanitize floors of rooms and offices
- spot clean walls and windows
- polish metal surfaces
- restock room supplies
- perform check-out/transfer cleaning as assigned
- vacuum carpets and spot clean carpets as needed
- transport soiled linen to central collection point
- perform heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods including dust and wet mop floors
- scrub or buff floors with appropriate equipment
- vacuum and shampoo carpets for cleaning and bacteria control
- strip and refinish hard surface floors
- transport trash from collection points and dispose of trash by sterilization or compactor
- cycle clean air vents, light fixtures and windows
- cycle clean ceilings and walls
- measure and mix cleaning chemicals
- assist in cleaning emergency spills when observed or upon request
- maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and recommend repairs as needed
- observe and report general need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
- perform as a team player and actively participate in meetings
