Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Handle chemicals and solutions per departmental and safety standards error free and efficiently
  • Ensure chemicals are properly labeled and utilized at all times
  • Present department positively to visitors, patients, and other hospital personnel
  • Report equipment needing repair to supervisor quickly
  • Use departmental scripting to identify self upon entry to patient rooms and inquire about additional customer service needs
  • Demonstrate constructive conflict resolution and display patience and tact when interacting with hospital personnel
  • Clean all areas according to departmental procedures using appropriate solutions for cleaning and disinfecting
  • Collect and sanitize waste and trash cans regularly
  • Clean assigned carts and equipment daily, replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap
  • Observe and follow isolation techniques in accordance with Infection Control Policy
  • Clean and sanitize areas affected by blood and body fluid spills
  • Use proper personal protective equipment such as gloves and wash hands frequently
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changing departmental demands
  • Access medication storage areas for cleaning and maintenance purposes
