Job Duties
- Handle chemicals and solutions per departmental and safety standards error free and efficiently
- Ensure chemicals are properly labeled and utilized at all times
- Present department positively to visitors, patients, and other hospital personnel
- Report equipment needing repair to supervisor quickly
- Use departmental scripting to identify self upon entry to patient rooms and inquire about additional customer service needs
- Demonstrate constructive conflict resolution and display patience and tact when interacting with hospital personnel
- Clean all areas according to departmental procedures using appropriate solutions for cleaning and disinfecting
- Collect and sanitize waste and trash cans regularly
- Clean assigned carts and equipment daily, replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap
- Observe and follow isolation techniques in accordance with Infection Control Policy
- Clean and sanitize areas affected by blood and body fluid spills
- Use proper personal protective equipment such as gloves and wash hands frequently
- Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changing departmental demands
- Access medication storage areas for cleaning and maintenance purposes
