Job Requirements

- Basic English speaking skills
- Ability to handle chemicals safely
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties involving lifting up to 40 lbs and other physical tasks
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures
- Must complete onboarding process and pre-employment physical
- Must receive annual flu vaccine unless medically or religiously exempt

Job Duties
- Handles chemicals and solutions per departmental and material safety data sheet standards error free and efficiently
- Ensures chemicals are properly labeled and utilized at all times
- Presents department in a positive manner to visitors, patients, and other hospital personnel
- Utilizes appropriate department chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances, or problems accurately
- Reports equipment needing repair to supervisor quickly
- Utilizes departmental scripting for identifying oneself upon entry of patient room and asks if there is any additional customer service needing to be performed before leaving area
- Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with members of the organization
- Displays patience and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel
- Cleans all areas using the cleaning procedure as outlined in orientation and department policy and procedures
- Uses appropriate solutions for cleaning and disinfecting area to be cleaned and thoroughly washes and sanitizes furniture when patients are discharged
- Collects routinely waste, sanitizes collects waste, and sanitizes trash can as needed
- Cleans assigned carts and equipment daily, ensures all items are returned in an orderly fashion all of the time
- Replenishes supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap and brings supplies and equipment to area as needed
- Observes and follows isolation techniques in accordance with Infection Control Policy
- Cleans and sanitizes areas affected with blood and body fluid spills
- Uses proper personal protective equipment such as gloves when cleaning and washing hands throughout the day and adheres to hospital policy
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or crew leader and possesses a willingness to adapt to changing departmental demands
- Has access to medication storage areas for cleaning and maintenance purposes
