Job Duties
- Handle chemicals and solutions per departmental and safety data sheet standards error-free and efficiently
- Ensure chemicals are properly labeled and utilized at all times
- Adhere to safety regulations outlined in departmental policies, facility and JCAHO guidelines
- Present the department positively to visitors, patients, and hospital personnel
- Utilize proper chain of command to resolve complaints, grievances, or problems accurately
- Report equipment needing repair to supervisor promptly
- Utilize departmental scripting when entering patient rooms and provide additional customer service as needed
- Identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively
- Clean all assigned areas using proper cleaning procedures and solutions
- Sanitize furniture and collect waste routinely
- Clean assigned carts and equipment daily and replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap
- Follow isolation techniques per Infection Control Policy
- Clean and sanitize areas affected by blood and body fluid spills
- Use proper personal protective equipment and adhere to hospital protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changing departmental demands
- Access medication storage areas for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
