Job Duties
- Handle chemicals and solutions per safety standards error free and efficiently
- Ensure chemicals are properly labeled and utilized at all times
- Adhere to safety regulations outlined in departmental policies and JCAHO guidelines
- Present department in a positive manner to visitors, patients, and hospital personnel
- Use appropriate chain of command to resolve complaints and grievances accurately
- Report equipment needing repair to supervisor promptly
- Identify oneself upon entry to patient rooms and ask if additional service is needed
- Display patience and tact when dealing with hospital personnel
- Clean all areas using prescribed procedures and appropriate solutions
- Collect and sanitize waste, including trash cans
- Clean assigned carts and equipment daily and return all items orderly
- Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap as needed
- Follow isolation techniques according to Infection Control Policy
- Clean and sanitize areas affected by blood and body fluid spills
- Use proper personal protective equipment when cleaning and wash hands regularly
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or crew leader
- Access medication storage areas for cleaning and maintenance purposes
