Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- prior housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to read, write and understand English
- ability to use cleaning equipment like mop, broom, buffer, wet vacuum
- ability to mix cleaning chemicals safely
- physical ability to lift/move objects up to 60 pounds and push up to 100 pounds
- ability to walk for prolonged periods
- ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets
- ability to comply with established policies and procedures
- ability to work independently and collaboratively
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to comply with Medicare, city, state and federal regulations
- ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screenings
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- possess valid driver's license and maintain driving record
- ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access if required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- prior experience as a housekeeper or related experience preferred
- ability to read, write and understand English
- ability to use general cleaning equipment
- knowledge of proper chemical dilution rates
- ability to maintain cleaning equipment
- ability to follow safety and cleaning protocols
- ability to climb, bend, squat, and lift objects weighing 10-60 pounds
- ability to understand Material Safety Data Sheets
- ability to follow policies and procedures
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- effective communication skills
- compliance with Medicare, city, state and federal regulations
Job Duties
- Perform routine unskilled and semi-skilled housekeeping work
- maintain assigned locations clean
- follow standard cleaning procedures of American Hospital Association and Joint Commission
- mix water and chemicals according to Material Safety Data Sheets
- clean and supply patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms, offices
- sweep and mop floors using reverse mopping procedures
- operate buffer and blower fans occasionally
- clean and vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- move and dust furniture and equipment
- dust and wash walls, ceilings, sills, woodwork, partitions, windows, baseboards, porcelain and stainless-steel fixtures
- clean doors, furniture and equipment
- stock and clean dispensers
- remove and transport trash, waste, and recyclables
- clean blinds and hang privacy drapes or cubical curtains
- service, clean and replenish patient rooms and restrooms
- clean wheelchairs, carts, racks, and nursing stations
