Job Requirements
- At least one to three months of on-the-job training plus formal classroom training
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and chemical handling procedures
- Physical capability to lift, carry or push equipment up to 400 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and perform heavy physical activities
- Ability to follow safety policies and handle hazardous waste carefully
- Experience working in healthcare or similar environments preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions and safety precautions
- Ability to prepare cleaning solutions according to procedures
- Skilled in assembling cleaning equipment
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to operate motorized and manual cleaning devices
- Strong physical ability for lifting, carrying, and performing heavy cleaning tasks
- Experience with E.S.D. procedures and policies
- Ability to work professionally and safely within hospital environments
Job Duties
- Perform heavy cleaning duties in hospital areas following established procedures
- Shampoo carpets, upholstery, and refinish floors using manual and motorized equipment
- Dust and clean high vents, lights, pipes, ceilings, and windows using ladders or safety devices
- Clean and disinfect lavatories including sinks, toilets, showers, and refill soap and paper dispensers
- Handle rubbish collection, waste disposal, chemical waste boxing, and operate waste processing equipment like balers
- Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and elevator doors
- Transport mattresses, furniture, and patient equipment as needed
- Remove snow and salt from sidewalks and entrances
- Change cubicle curtains and wash window blinds
- Assist in supply rooms and perform conference room setups
- Perform minor maintenance on cleaning equipment
- Take laundry linen inventory and document results
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or group leaders
