Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation
- Ability to prepare cleaning solutions according to procedure
- Physical ability to lift, carry and push heavy materials up to 400 pounds
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals properly
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to operate motorized and manual cleaning devices
- One to three months of related on-job training
- Willingness to work evening shifts and some weekends/holidays
- Must follow organizational values and core success factors
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physical demands

- Ability to assemble cleaning equipment such as mops, dusters, vacuum cleaners, mop buckets

Job Duties
- Perform a variety of heavy cleaning duties according to established procedures
- Shampoo carpets, upholstery, and refinish floors using E.S.D. procedures
- Dust high vents, lights, pipes, lockers, ceilings and wash window glass using safety devices
- Clean wastebaskets, fans, rubber mats and other miscellaneous items
- Wash and disinfect sinks, toilets, floors, urinals, bathtubs and showers in hospital lavatories
- Service and refill soap and paper dispensers
- Prepare burn and Radiation (I-131) rooms with protective covering
- Clean beds, mattresses, sleeping carts from top to bottom
- Dispose rubbish and soiled linen by transporting to appropriate areas
- Transport heavy rubbish and operate equipment for waste disposal
- Wash rubbish chute rooms and rubbish trucks
- Perform minor maintenance on trucks such as replacing screws and greasing wheels
- Operate bailer equipment for recycling
- Spot clean walls and polish woodwork, furniture, brass fittings and stainless steel surfaces
- Remove and transport animal waste
- Assist nursing staff with moving beds and furniture
- Clear dirt, snow and salt from sidewalks and entrances
- Change cubicle curtains and draperies
- Remove, wash and repair window blinds
- Clean construction areas after renovations
- Carry and use communication devices as requested
- Assist supply clerks and perform related duties
- Service batteries on battery-operated devices
- Set up conference rooms for meetings and events
- Take laundry linen inventory
- Perform housekeeping aide and laundry aide duties as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or group leader
