Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least one to three months of on-the-job and classroom training in cleaning procedures
  • Ability to operate and maintain cleaning and E.S.D. equipment
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, push heavy items, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to handle hazardous waste and cleaning chemicals appropriately
  • Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and observe safety precautions
  • Ability to prepare cleaning solutions according to procedures
  • Ability to assemble and operate cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuum cleaners, and motorized floor buffers
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and furniture
  • At least one to three months of on-the-job training plus formal classroom training
  • Ability to perform duties safely and professionally in accordance with hospital policies
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sanitary environment

Job Duties

  • Perform heavy cleaning duties including floor shampooing, upholstery cleaning, and waste disposal
  • Operate and maintain motorized and manual cleaning equipment
  • Clean hospital lavatories, sinks, toilets, and other sanitary fixtures
  • Refill soap and paper dispensers and service cleaning equipment
  • Manage rubbish collection, disposal, and recycling including hazardous waste
  • Assist nursing personnel with moving beds and patient furniture
  • Prepare and clean specialized rooms such as burn and radiation rooms
  • Clean construction areas post-renovation
  • Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas including sidewalks and entrance mats
  • Change curtains and draperies and maintain window blinds
  • Assist with conference room setups and supply room duties
  • Use communication devices like beepers and two-way radios as needed
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry aide duties as required
