Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to three months of formal and on-the-job training
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Ability to safely operate cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Good communication skills in English
- Willingness to work evening shifts and weekends
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions and observe safety precautions
- Ability to prepare cleaning solutions according to procedures
- Ability to assemble and operate cleaning equipment such as mops, dusters, vacuum cleaners, and floor buffers
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, or push heavy equipment
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and E.S.D. equipment operation
- At least one to three months of on-the-job training
- Ability to perform duties professionally and safely
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and coordination
Job Duties
- Perform heavy cleaning duties following established E.S.D. procedures
- Shampoo carpets and upholstery and refinish floors
- Dust vents, lights, pipes, lockers, ceilings and wash windows
- Clean sinks, toilets, floors, urinals, bedpan racks, bathtubs, showers and refill dispensers
- Dispose of rubbish and soiled linen and operate rubbish trucks
- Operate bailer equipment and transport recycle totes
- Clean and polish walls, woodwork, furniture, brass fittings and elevator doors
- Remove animal waste and transport furniture as needed
- Assist nursing staff with moving beds and patient furniture
- Clean sidewalks and entrances, apply salt and assist grounds crew
- Change cubicle curtains and clean window blinds
- Clean construction areas after renovations
- Carry and use communication devices as required
- Assist supply clerks and perform supply room tasks
- Set up conference rooms for meetings and events
- Perform inventory counts of laundry linens
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
