Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend basic written instructions in English
  • Must comprehend verbal instructions and be able to speak and reply in English
  • Preferred 3+ months of cleaning experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to safely move, lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs individually
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions related to cleaning
  • Required to work with cleaning chemicals and products safely

Job Qualifications

  • Analytical skills to read instructions, perform basic math operations, and compare numbers and letters
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting
  • Experience working safely with cleaning chemicals and products

Job Duties

  • Receives cleaning assignments and requests cleaning materials and supplies such as mops, buckets, electric buffer, vacuum cleaner, rags, disinfectants, and the like
  • Mixes cleaning solutions and loads service cart to transport to work areas
  • Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions
  • Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and related surfaces
  • Strips, cleans, and makes beds with fresh linens upon patient dismissal and restocks supplies like soap, tissues, and towels
  • Sweeps, mops, and vacuums limited floor areas including patient rooms and offices, operates buffing equipment and performs spot cleaning on carpets
  • Cleans and maintains sanitation equipment and reports equipment needing repair
  • Visually inspects cleaned areas to ensure cleanliness and neatness
  • Returns unused supplies to utility rooms and cleans carts and equipment
  • Performs heavy-duty cleaning of floors and carpets including stripping and shampooing
  • Washes, scrubs, and disinfects walls, windows, and doors, handling various stains
  • Gathers and disposes of refuse according to sanitation procedures
  • Moves furniture and equipment using handcarts or dollies
