Job Requirements

  • Moderate to heavy lifting ability required
  • ability to operate all types of floor machinery and housekeeping related equipment
  • ability to lift 50 lbs
  • carry items of 25 lbs
  • push carts up to 200 lbs
  • ability to perform frequent pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting and reaching
  • extensive standing and walking required
  • must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment

  • minimum six months experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Operates and utilizes cleaning equipment such as wet mop units, dust mops, vacuum systems, floor scrubbers, shampoo machines, and buffers
  • utilizes sanipac compactors and balers
  • cleans patient areas including restrooms, discharge beds, woodwork, horizontal surfaces, TVs, cabinets, furniture, glass, walls, floors, and replenishes dispensers
  • cleans auxiliary areas including medication rooms, nursing stations, tub rooms, soiled utility rooms, staff lounges, quiet rooms, offices, exam rooms, treatment rooms, waiting rooms, lobbies, elevators, water fountains, ice machines, telephones, and performs high dusting
  • replenishes supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, plastic liners, paper cups, and seat covers
  • removes soiled linen and trash
  • reports unsafe conditions or defective equipment
  • ensures proper disposal of sharp objects and follows safety rules with correct body mechanics
