Job Duties
- perform heavy cleaning duties in hospital to maintain sanitary conditions
- shampoo carpets and upholstery and refinish floors using E.S.D. procedures
- dust high vents, lights, ceilings, and wash window glass
- clean lavatories including sinks, toilets, and bedpan racks
- service and refill soap and paper dispensers
- prepare burn and radiation rooms with protective coverings
- clean beds, mattresses, and patient carts thoroughly
- pick up and dispose of rubbish and soiled linens properly
- operate rubbish trucks and bailer equipment
- clean and polish furniture and stainless steel fittings
- remove and transport animal waste and laundry
- assist nursing staff in moving patient furniture
- clean sidewalks and entrances, apply salt during winter
- change curtains and wash window blinds
- clean construction areas post-renovation
- assist supply clerks and perform related duties
- set up conference rooms for meetings
- take laundry linen inventory
- perform housekeeping aide and laundry aide duties as required
