Job Requirements

Minimum age of sixteen years
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
Physical capability to move throughout the workday
Capacity to cope with mental and emotional stress
Adequate sight and hearing or use of prosthetics for these senses
Ability to work independently with flexibility and integrity
Good general health and emotional stability
Ability to engage with ill, disabled, emotionally upset or hostile individuals
Ability to lift, push, pull equipment or supplies over fifty pounds
Willingness to work in environments with potential exposure to infectious waste and diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B

Job Qualifications

High school education or equivalent preferred
Must be a minimum of sixteen years of age
Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner
Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family, visitors, personnel, and government agencies
Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with others
Patience, tactfulness, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm

Job Duties

Follow established departmental policies and procedures including appropriate dress code
Meet with housekeeping personnel regularly to identify and correct problem areas or improve services
Follow and complete cleaning schedules daily as assigned
Maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and calm environment throughout the department
Participate in in-service education programs
Assist in maintaining an effective orientation program for new employees
Recommend equipment and supply needs to the supervisor
Maintain adequate supplies on housekeeping cart for routine cleaning
Place and replace proper MSDS labels on chemicals
Use correct supplies and dilution ratios
Keep restricted areas locked
Check windows, furniture, fixtures for operation and report maintenance needs
Obey all safety rules
Practice good infection control and follow universal precaution procedures
Replace and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags
Report all accidents and incidents to supervisor
Participate in quality assurance program development and implementation
Attend staff meetings
Perform other related duties as assigned
