Job Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. required
- previous housekeeping experience preferred
- physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and move frequently
- able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs and push/pull/carry up to 100 lbs
- ability to see and hear adequately for work purposes
- good motor coordination
- ability to read and interpret various documents and product labels
- able to document daily work
- ability to identify cleaning equipment malfunctions and smells of cleaning supplies
- effective and professional communication skills
- ability to remain calm under adversity
- open, honest and tactful communication
- positive, cooperative and motivated attitude
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- previous housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to follow directions and learn work routines
- knowledge of hospital sanitation standards
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- basic proficiency with cleaning equipment and chemicals
- understanding of patient and family centered care
Job Duties
- Responsible for cleaning assigned areas
- dust mops, mops and vacuums according to department procedures
- empties, cleans and sanitizes all waste receptacles daily
- cleans water fountains daily and as needed
- damp wipes furniture
- cleans windows, door frames, hinges, and casings
- spot washes walls when needed
- cleans and polishes mirrors
- cleans restrooms including tiles and fixtures
- replenishes supplies such as paper towels, soap and tissues
- cleans patient rooms including beds, furniture, walls, ceilings and floors
- places tent cards and patient ready signs on doors after cleaning
- maintains fully stocked housekeeping carts and closets
- prepares cleaning solutions as needed
- completes monthly side work tasks
- supports hospital mission, policies and ethical standards
