Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment as determined by background investigation
- Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Completion of online onboarding process
- Acceptable form of identification for employment
- Pre-employment physical required
- Completion of all application requirements
- Commitment to serving a one-year probationary period
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- Capability to operate heavy powered cleaning equipment
- Willingness to comply with safety protocols including personal protective equipment
- Ability to handle exposure risks such as contagious diseases
- Compliance with vaccination requirements for healthcare personnel

Job Duties
- Executes a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas
- Performs floor maintenance and wall washing
- Cleans doors, doorframes, baseboard corners, edges, and stairwells
- Utilizes pressure washers and heavy industrial powered and battery operated equipment
- Adjusts, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on cleaning equipment and changes attachments
- Empties trash and wastebaskets and replaces liners
- Transports general refuse, regulated medical waste, and recycling to central collection areas
- Cleans restrooms, bathrooms, and shower rooms including disinfecting and deodorizing lavatories and fixtures
- Replenishes supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, and soap
- Moves and arranges furniture to accomplish cleaning tasks
- Provides bed-making services and cleans patient care items in patient rooms
- Restocks clean textile closets and participates in inventory management
- Defrosts and cleans patient care refrigerators and ice machines
- Cleans stainless steel surfaces and designated smoking areas
- Cleans windows, glass doors, and other glass surfaces
- Cleans and/or replaces needle boxes
- Periodically cleans non-critical Reusable Medical Equipment
- May work with and guide Compensated Work Therapy workers
- Performs other duties as assigned
