Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Suitability for federal employment as determined by a background investigation
  • Successful completion of drug screening prior to appointment
  • Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Completion of online onboarding process with acceptable identification
  • Compliance with seasonal influenza vaccination program
  • Commitment to serving a 1-year probationary period
  • Ability to handle physical demands of continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
  • Willingness to work multiple shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use heavy powered cleaning equipment weighing over 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Performs full range of cleaning tasks using powered cleaning equipment
  • Uses cleaning chemicals according to label directions to ensure safety
  • Makes beds, changes linens, collects and disposes of soiled and regulated medical waste
  • Checks and replenishes consumable supplies in patient rooms and common areas
  • Removes, transports, repackages, disposes, and stores sharps safely
  • Cleans architectural features such as floors, walls, baseboards, windows, ceilings, and metal fixtures
  • Operates heavy powered cleaning equipment requiring dexterity and visual acuity
