Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- suitability for federal employment as determined by background check
- successful completion of urinalysis drug screening
- registration with Selective Service for applicable males
- completion of online onboarding and providing acceptable identification
- completion of application requirements
- willingness to serve a 1-year probationary period
- ability to meet physical demands of continuous walking, standing, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- ability to handle heavy powered cleaning equipment
- compliance with safety and infection control protocols
- no substitution of education for experience at this grade level
Job Qualifications
- Evidence of training or experience demonstrating housekeeping skills
- ability to use powered cleaning equipment safely
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
- ability to follow directions and work independently
- dexterity and physical stamina to meet job demands
- reliability and dependability
- ability to handle weights and loads required by the position
Job Duties
- Use of powered cleaning equipment for proper and efficient accomplishment
- use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
- make beds, change linens, collect and dispose of soiled linens and waste including medical and hazardous wastes
- check and replenish consumable supplies such as soap, hand towels, and gloves
- remove, transport, and dispose of sharps and replace sharps containers as needed
- execute a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas
