Job Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply
- Selective service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Subject to background and security investigation
- Pre-employment physical required
- Completion of online onboarding process with acceptable identification
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program
- Ability to perform continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- Willingness to work indoors and occasionally outdoors with PPE use
- Commitment to comply with VA safety and infection control protocols
- Successful completion of a one-year probationary period
Job Qualifications
- Experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred but not required
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Physical dexterity and ability to handle weights and loads
- Demonstrated reliability and dependability
- Aptitude for housekeeping work
- Knowledge of safety practices
- Ability to perform work practices consistent with healthcare facility standards
Job Duties
- Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties
- Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors and furniture
- Empty waste baskets and discard trash
- Clean light globes, Venetian blinds, walls, windows, and ceilings
- Refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers
- Move furniture as needed
- Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
