Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment determined by background investigation
- Passing urinalysis drug screening
- Selective Services registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Completion of online onboarding process with acceptable identification
- Ability to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to serve a 1-year probationary period
- Compliance with VA seasonal influenza vaccination program or approved exemption

- Demonstrate ability to perform housekeeping duties through training or experience
- Provide detailed descriptions of related experience on resume
- Show knowledge of safety and dexterity relevant to housekeeping work
- Ability to follow directions accurately
- Capability to handle weights and loads safely
- Reliability and dependability in work practices
- Experience with routine housekeeping and cleaning tasks
Job Duties
- Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties
- Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub floors using machines, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture
- Empty waste baskets and discard trash appropriately
- Install light bulbs in halls and patient rooms
- Clean light globes, Venetian blinds, wash walls, windows, and ceilings by climbing small ladders
- Refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers
- Move furniture as needed
- Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
