Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment as determined by background investigation
- Selective Service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- Completion of pre-employment physical
- Completion of online onboarding process
- Ability to perform physical duties including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- Compliance with VA employment policies including 1-year probationary period
- Submission of all required application documents
- No requirement for educational qualification
- Availability to work full-time schedule
- Commitment to uphold U.S. Constitution and federal laws
Job Qualifications
- Evidence of training or experience in custodial services
- Ability to use heavy powered cleaning equipment
- Attention to detail and visual acuity
- Physical ability to perform continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment
- Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Job Duties
- Perform floor maintenance, wall washing
- Clean doors, doorframes, baseboard corners and edges, and stairwells
- Empty trash and wastebaskets, replace liners
- Transport general refuse, regulated medical waste and recycling to central collection areas
- Clean restrooms, bathrooms, and shower rooms, ensuring they meet acceptable standards
- Replenish supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, and soap
- Move and arrange furniture, patient wardrobes, beds, etc. to accomplish cleaning tasks
