Job Requirements
- must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- must meet minimum age requirements per state and federal regulations
- must obtain criminal history clearance
- must comply with all training requirements
- must make independent decisions and accept constructive criticism
- must deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family, visitors, government agencies, and the public
- must maintain care and use of supplies and equipment
- must perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation, safety, and order
- must work harmoniously with others and handle residents at their functional levels
- must follow instructions for mixing cleaning compounds and disinfectants
- must relate information concerning resident conditions
- must not pose a direct threat to health or safety of others
- must operate washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners, and other housekeeping equipment
- must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- must possess adequate sight and hearing or prosthetics
- must meet health requirements including medical and physical exams
- must relate to ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals
- must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- may assist with resident evacuation in emergencies

Job Duties
- ensure adherence to CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct
- comply with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies
- perform basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following community schedules and protocols
- dust horizontal surfaces
- empty wastebaskets, remove waste, and reline baskets
- damp-wipe or dust furniture
- clean and polish bathroom fixtures
- mop and sanitize floors
- spot clean walls and windows
- vacuum carpets
- perform heavier cleaning including carpet shampooing and window cleaning
- assist in emergency spill cleanups
- follow infection control measures and Standard Precautions
- use approved cleaning products following safety instructions
- store and maintain cleaning equipment properly
- report need for repairs to housekeeping director or designated manager
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive director
