Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physical cleaning tasks
- knowledge of infection control and isolation procedures
- ability to operate and maintain janitorial equipment
- ability to communicate clearly in English
- basic computer literacy
- ability to follow safety protocols
- prior housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- ability to work day shifts
- reliable and punctual
- ability to handle biohazardous waste safely
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- environmental services experience within healthcare preferred
- knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures
- ability to maintain equipment and work areas clean and safe
- able to communicate in English
- basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard
- able to operate computer using standard office software
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to interact with patients
- able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, and various reports
- able to follow oral and written assignments
- knowledge of additional languages preferred
- housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
Job Duties
- Clean assigned patient and public areas daily
- collect and remove trash and sanitize all surfaces
- stock paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies
- utilize Bed Management system to maintain bed flow
- operate cleaning and janitorial equipment
- collect and stage soiled linen for pick up
- dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
- clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids
- document all work performed
- access ancillary units, restrooms, and offices as assigned
