Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with patients, visitors, and staff

Job Duties
- Responsible for completing daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas
- Perform duties demonstrating working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements
- Display safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment
- Maintain cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment as outlined in the standard work cart setup
- Remove waste and transport it to appropriate disposal areas while identifying proper waste stream handling in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements
- Follow infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
